Thursdays Tips – Libraries and Archives Canada

I’m a bit late with my post this week, as I forgot to do it yesterday.

I have a few people in my tree so far who have lived in Canada.  I have been using Ancestry.com, because I have been using Ancestry to research my English branches, and it has been easier to just keep using Ancestry, rather than switching to another site.

However, Libraries and Archives Canada is a free resource for researching in Canada.  They hold a small collection of births, deaths. and marriages. They also hold the census records from 1825 to 1926.  They also have immigration records and military records.

Full details of what they hold can be found on the Ancestor Search page
