Trove Tuesday

Trove Tuesday – Emma Godfree Christensen

Over the last few weeks, I have been sharing articles I have found for the children of Niels Christensen and Emma Slawson. I have written about their eldest three sons.  They had two daughters who died young, and their 6th child was their only daughter who survived to adulthood.

Emma Godfree Christensen was born in 1869 at Alberton, Victoria, Australia, and she married John Jamieson in 1903.

She died in 1904 at Alberton.  The following article is her death notice.

Emma died intestate, and had no children, so her brothers went to court for a share of her estate, as her next of kin.

There is a later article where the High Court agreed with this decision.
