William was christened 8 March 1797 at All Saints Church, Wakefield, Yorkshire, England.

He married Lucy Priest on 28 November 1815 at Cathedral Saint Peter, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.  William and Lucy had 3 children:

  • Selina Sharp (1816-?)
  • Ann Maria Sharp (1819-?)
  • Lucy Sharp (1821-1821)

Lucy was buried 4 February 1821 at Wakefield, and William then married Sarah Crossley on 29 January 1822 at St John’s Church, Wakefield.  William and Sarah had 10 children:

I have not yet found a death or burial record for John.

144 David Sharp (ca. 1740-?)
145 Ann Broad (ca. 1740-?)

David married Ann Broad on 17 July 1769 at All Saints, Wakefield, Yorkshire. England. They had 2 children:

  • John Sharp (1770-?)
  • Jenney Sharp (1772-?)

The marriage record for David and Ann shows the David was “of Dewsbury”.  I have found a baptism record that seems to match: David Sharp was christened 21 November 1747 at Dewsbury, All Saints.  His father was Samuel Sharp.  There was also a Samuel Sharp christened 14 March 1743 at Dewsbury, father Samuel Sharp, which seems likely to have been David’s brother.

I couldn’t find a marriage of a Samuel Sharp in Dewsbury, but there was a marriage of a Samuel Sharp to Sarah Claughton on 8 May 1734 at Calverley, St Wilfrid.  I don’t know if this is for the same Samuel, as Calverley is a fair distance from Dewsbury and Wakefield, so I haven’t traced the family back any further at this stage.
