The first ancestor in my tree with this surname was Mary Warren.  My ancestral line is:

Before preparing for this post, this was the information I had for Mary:

Mary Warren was born 1702.

Mary married Simeon Leete, and they had the following children:

• Ann Leete was was christened on 26 Nov 1724 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England.
• Mary Leete was christened on 14 Nov 1726 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England
• Elizabeth Leete was christened on 1 Oct 1729 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England.
• Tabitha Leete christened on 27 Oct 1734 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England.
• Simeon Leete was christened on 6 Sep 1739 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England and died on 30 Sep 1739.
• Judith Leete was christened on 17 Nov 1740 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England.
• Simeon Leete was christened on 17 Nov 1740 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England, died on 17 Oct 1807 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England, and was buried on 21 Oct 1807 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England.

Mary was buried on 10 Mar 1779 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, England.

From the book The Family of Leete, I had the additional information that she was the daughter of William Warren, of Guilden Morden.

I didn’t have a date of marriage for Simeon and Mary, and I also hadn’t found Mary’s baptism record yet.

Although the records for Guilden Morden are available on FamilySearch and Ancestry, I prefer to refer to use the transcriptions that I have on CD from the Cambridgeshire Family History Society, so that I can narrow down my search to just that parish.  I was unable to find a marriage for Simeon Leete and Mary Warren, but I did find the baptism record for Mary.

Mary Warren was christened Easter Sunday 1704.  She was the daughter of William & Ann.  William was a butcher.

The Guilden Morden parish records show two other baptisms:

• Elizabeth Warren christened 14 May 1702, dau of Wm
• Ann Warren christened – Oct 1706, dau of Wm & Ann butcher

There are no marriages for the surname Warren on the Guilden Morden parish records, and only two burials:

• Wm Warren, yeoman, buried 18 May 1735
• Ann Warren, wid, buried 19 July 1760

Since I had been unable to find a marriage for William and Ann in Guilden Morden, I decided to see if I could find any other children for them, born before 1702, and I found several entries (on FamilySearch) at Redbourn or Redbourne, Hertfordshire, England:

• Ann Warren, christened 17 July 1692
• John Warren, christened 23 August 1693
• Nathaniell Warren, christened 24 December 1694
• John Warren, christened 19 November 1695
• Ann Warren, christened 22 January 1696
• Thomas Warren, christened 6 March 1697
• Sarah Warren, christened 17 September 1699
• Cornelius Warren, christened 22 September 1700
• Daniell Warren, christened 13 March 1701

At this stage, I don’t know whether this would be the same family as mine or not.  There may have even been two couples with the names William and Ann in Redbourn, given how close together the christenings were.
